Our Farm

Regenerative. Healthy. Local.

Wish You Were Here Farm is a regenerative farm in Milton, Ontario, growing flowers and fresh food for our community while restoring the land that makes it all possible. Our 88 acres have been farmed since the 1800s, most recently in a conventional corn–soy rotation — a common system that, over time, can leave soil depleted and low on life. We’ve embarked on a long-term project to rebuild soil health and restore natural habitat across the farm, growing premium, nutrient-dense food with practices that rebuild soil, respect animals, and create more habitat for wildlife, birds, and pollinators.

Our Approach

Regenerative Farming

Regenerative farming is a way of growing food that restores the land instead of depleting it. It focuses on building healthy soil, increasing biodiversity, and reducing practices that degrade soil structure, like intensive tillage. For our community, that means food grown with care — fresher, more nutrient-dense, and full of flavour, from a farm that gets better each season.

You can learn more about regenerative farming and our broader land-restoration work at Vidaterra, our sister company.

Organic Farming

Organic farming is about growing food without relying on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and instead building fertility through healthy soil, composting, and careful crop management. For our community, that means cleaner, more natural growing practices and vegetables produced without chemicals — the kind of farming we believe should be the standard. We grow following organic practices, and we are in the process of becoming organically certified for our Market Garden. We’ll share certification details as they’re finalized.

As the Farm Grows

We’re planting berry bushes and fruit trees, along with asparagus and perennial flowers like peonies and roses. These crops take time to establish and will become part of the harvest in the years ahead.

Our Horses

Meet Woody and Trooper

Wish You Were Here Farm supports a small horse rescue and is home to retired and rescued racehorses Woody and Trooper. They’re part of the life of the farm — and contribute to our composting and soil-building.

Racehorses are athletes with relatively short careers compared to their lifespan. We’re grateful to be part of giving them a safe, lasting home. They enhance the life of the farm.

Why We’re Here

Wish You Were Here

It’s a nod to the Pink Floyd classic — and an invitation to imagine the kind of farm and landscape we’re working to bring back to life. We’re building a farm that is worth visiting — not only for what you can buy, but for how it feels to be here. A place to slow down, breathe, reconnect with the seasons, and return to throughout the year.

Our Mission

We grow the highest-quality, nutrient-dense food possible using regenerative and organic farming practices that rebuild soil, respect animals, and restore wildlife habitat — profitably and responsibly.

We are committed to:

  • Producing the highest quality food possible
  • Being profitable and ecologically responsible
